The Love I Lost (Part 1)

by Misk Hills Mountain Rambler III

/

about

At Bakewell music festival we lost a member of our family . . . This is 'Part 1' of the song that emerged from this torrid tale . . . :-(

lyrics

I thought that you would always love me
I thought you'd always be true
But then you left me for another
Left me feeling blue

I walked up onto the mountain
The fiddle player stood right there
Her eyes were as black as the coal
She had ribbons in her hair

The tune that she played was so pretty
But the words were as dark as her hair
That fiddle player she turned to stone
They say that she still stands there

Lucifer he knelt down beside me
He asked of the where and the why
I told him on the day that you left me
That was the day that the music died
